Mike Bird joined the BBC 25 years ago from the electronics industry and did his initial training in audio covering radio, music and drama recording and TV/Film sound.

Since becoming freelance in the early 90's, he has worked generally in the audio arena in Music, Film and Broadcasting.  His technical and artistic work now includes general technical managing and the development, use and design of multimedia online.  Mike has been involved in teaching young people sound and media skills over a good number of years.  He is currently Governor of a 'Media Special Status' school and visiting instructor of Media Practice at the University of the West of England.


Caroline Webster is a freelance director/producer who began her career as an actress, working extensively in theatre and television, becoming a familiar face as paramedic ‘Jane Scott’, in BBC1’s ‘Casualty’.

Moving behind the camera she began freelance script writing, directing and producing. Then in 1999 co-founded the Manx Multimedia Centre, a training and production facility, offering young people TV, film and multimedia production experience, a project far ahead of it’s time. This developed into 'Dramatic Media' where as Creative Director she developed drama based educational interactive resources and curriculum-mapped activities.

Julie Laslett M.A.,Adv.Dip Ed.,B.A.,F.R.S.A. is a qualified teacher and youth worker. Her background as a Deputy head working with young people, interest in drama and experience in educational management, eventually led to the creation of programme's for the education and training market.

She developed and managed the Manx Multimedia Centre from 1999 and in 2005 set up Dramatic Media as a production company and publisher of film drama based interactive educational resources. Julie co-writes and produces all in-house productions as well as providing seminars and workshops on visual literacy.



Damien learned his trade as a cameraman and lighting director during 14 years at the BBC.   Days off from filming were often spent taking photographs for a variety of top name clients including Peugeot, Motorola, and Adidas.

Fifteen years on, Damien has become one of the foremost photographers and trainers in the industry. A published writer and regular columnist, Damien has traveled the globe sharing his knowledge and expertise.   Recently his interest in education gave him the opportunity to lecture at a region Headmasters conference.

Simon Tagney is a cameraman of over 20 years, working and training with both the BBC and ITV.

As a freelance Simon has been developing corporate video projects as well as continuing broadcast work.   Simon has a particular interest in Medical Information films working on Patient Information and Educational DVD's in hospitals throughout the UK, including a DVD for a National Heart Charity and a Patient Information film for an Oncology Centre.  He has also been helping develop on Photographic Technique Teaching Films for the Internet.
